Likes:
Bolo enjoys anything to do with nature - the warmth of the sunshine, the dramatic sensation of the rain - anything with regards to the mystery of life is an adventure for him. Although he is fond of exploring and is always up for a good hunt, he would also not mind the security and stability of a peaceful, comfortable life in a place he can call home. He also likes discovering new things and meeting new creatures, as long as they do not have intention of harming him.
The most obvious thing that Tak seems to like is being an older brother. Meaning, his being a sort of power figure over another that he can control. He finds a strange pleasure in fighting, tormenting, or insulting others, which more than often places Bolo in awkward situations.
Dislikes:
Bolo greatly dislikes the feeling of loneliness; although he has spent many years coping with it, he has never gotten used to or grown fond of the sensation. He also hates disputes, and has a general dislike of ranking and packs - although he greatly wishes to belong somewhere, he has never had good experiences with them in the first place. His greatest dislike seems to be seeing anyone treated with disrespect or being dishonored.
Tak seems to dislike nearly everything, or at least merely displays a bored disinterest. He will probably never admit the obvious, however, that he greatly dislikes anyone and anything that would humiliate or hurt Bolo.
Trusts:
It seems that Bolo trusts and will trust his "brother" more than anyone he has known or will ever know.
Tak seems to only trust in himself.
Hopes & Dreams:
Bolo has hope that he can survive the world, no matter what he will face, as long as his brother is with him. He also dreams for the time when he can find someplace where he can actually "belong", and when crossbreeds will not be treated as filthy mongrels and outcasts in the lupine world.
It's still unknown what Tak exactly hopes and dreams for, although it seems apparent that he wants his brother to have a good and comfortable life.
Fears:
The greatest fear for both is if the time should come that one should be without the other.
Values:
Bolo greatly values his family above all else. He also values loyalty, and if given the chance would value a good friendship.
Tak values his own survival, in effect valuing Bolo greatly.
Motto:
"There is always tomorrow." - Bolo
"Blood runs thicker than water." - Tak

.:Personality/History Information:.

Basic Personality:
Bolo has the basic traits of any dog - intelligent, alert, and absolutely loyal to those he loves and cares about. He is also rather playful, happy-go-lucky, and despite his terrible experiences in life seems to hold an innocent fascination about the world he lives in. In a general mood he can hold some sort of genuine naîvety, his eagerness to please can be easily taken advantage of by others. However this does not mean that his mind is idle - behind the exterior of a big puppy, he has also learned to attune his instincts to the wolfish traits he possesses. He is a talented hunter, a fairly decent runner, and skilled killer, despite the fact that he is usually uneasy about inflicting any harm upon living creatures. The thing is, he knows that he is more than able to carry out these sorts of tasks, but it seems that he is hardly aware of how dangerous he actually is in a battle, mainly preferring to have the nature of a puppy dog than a grown wolf. He can also be generous and extremely loving, if only given the chance to do so.

While Bolo remains blissfully unaware of his battle potential, Tak in the meantime is fully conscious of this fact. Tak could be considered the full dire wolf side of Bolo - almost perhaps the side Bolo inherited from his dire wolf father. Tak is generally mean and harsh, and does not have a problem with the thought of hurting others. Tak also is the more openly-cynical side of Bolo, questioning almost everything about the world and trusting nothing that lives and breathes upon it. He can also be severely overprotective of his brother, in an almost possessive manner. Bolo secretly thinks, however, that it is impossible for Tak not to have a heart (like he usually says), given how protective his older brother is of him.
Evil Or Good?: Good ; Neutral
Happy or Depressed?: Optimistic ; Pessimistic/Realistic
Confused or Organized?: Organized
Considerate or Gready?: Considerate
Giving or Taking?: Giving ; Taking
Other: Bolo sometimes talks to Tak in his head (believing he is "having a conversation" with his "brother"). Tak only fully manifests as a complete personality when Bolo becomes very scared, or very confused/uncertain.
Basic History:
Bolo's history actually begins way before his own -- to understand the crossbreed, one must understand its origin. Bolo's mother was a full-bred doberman, trained as a guard dog for a group of soldiers based in the North. One evening, a pack of wandering dire wolves happened upon the campsite and, driven by their natural instincts, pillaged the camp in search for food and other things they could steal. Unknown to the rest of the pack, while they were busy causing chaos within the human camp, their alpha had stolen away and, finding the female doberman chained outside and alone, overpowered the dog and force bred with her. The doberman tried to get a view of her attacker, but all she managed a glimpse of was the shape of a gray diamond on his chest. Eventually those who were not injured among the humans managed to ward the other wolves away, but the female's pride had already been permanently taken away.

When the humans found the dog pregnant, they thought that one of the male dogs had mated with her, and kept her away to await the birth of her pups. Eventually during that wait they had to find ways to restrain the dog, as they couldn't understand why it was treating itself so violently - purposely banging against the walls, throwing itself against the ground, and harshly scratching at its belly in an attempt to kill what was inside her. When the pups were finally born, only one out of five had survived its mother's attempts to kill its offspring. The soldiers even had to separate the pup while it was still a newborn, as it mother seemed desperate to harm the puppy. They would only allow the pup to feed from its mother when the female had tired herself out from her desperate attacks. Eventually, it seemed that the female had grown tired - or at least given up - on its attempts to kill the remaining pup, and for a time everything was peaceful between mother and son.

Those days, however, were not easy for the mother, as the dukes among the other dogs knew that none of them had mated with her and suspected the truth. This was made even worse when, as the pup grew, he began to develop distinctly strange characteristics. For one thing, its ears never properly developed - one was permanently perked, and the other was a natural flop. The pup also grew its pelt and a tiny mane fairly quickly, becoming something of a shaggy, scruffy puppy. Also, his features were distinctly wolflike, despite his coloration being mainly his mother's. The dogs were disgusted with the mother and her pup, and treated them as filth. They would nip and scratch at them whenever they got the chance, they would eat their scraps first and leave almost no leftovers, and speak down to them. The female doberman, with what remained of her motherly instincts, struggled to protect her son, but almost always failed to keep him from the cruelties of others. She tried so hard to raise the pup, if only because he lived and breathed. And despite the cruelties they endured, her only comfort was that her pup never once fought back against the other dogs - he would allow himself to be nipped and clawed, but he would always stand right back up and never attempted to pay the other dogs back. And for some reason, the pup was always loving and loyal to her, even if she herself could not wholly love her own son.

Once, when the pup had grown a few months, he asked who his father was. The female had no answer for the pup, but instead told him that if she would find a duke with a gray diamond on his chest, that would be his father.

The time came when the soldiers were to be reassigned to another camp, in a country far away from the pup's birthplace. Using the opportunity of the hustlle and bustle in the campsite, some of the dogs carried the sleeping pup into the trunk of a tree and covered the hole with a bit of wood. His mother searched the camp frantically for the pup, but was soon forced into the truck with the other dogs. When the pup awoke in his dark and damp shelter, he managed to free himself from his temporary prison but, when he reached the area where the humans had originally camped, they were already gone.

The pup ventured forth to find its own survival. How the pup managed to survive through the first two years of its life were a mystery even to it, almost a foggy memory - little did it know that its wolfish instincts were stronger than it realized. Just because it survived the first two years of its life, however, didn't mean it had come to scrapes close to death - the pup sometimes had to learn how to run fast when its claws were ineffective in a battle. But it was very few a time when he ever needed to run.

When the pup turned two years of age, the young duke happened across a pack of dangerous-looking wolves. Tired of wandering and his wolfish instincts longing for a pack to belong to, he asked if he could join. The alpha agreed, but only on the condition that the young wolf prove himself, by vanquishing a small group of humans that had set up camp near the forest. The young wolf obliged, and by nightfall had thrown himself into the human camp, attacking the humans with the great hope he would finally belong to a pack. The last human he did battle with wielded a short blade but despite this the wolf managed to take him down. He recalled the human crying out while he had been attacking, calling for the "bolo" to use against the wolf. Proud that he had survived an encounter with a potentially dangerous human weapon, the young wolf named himself "Bolo", after the blade.

Returning to the wolf pack, Bolo reported of his progress, but the alpha directed the duke to three other human camps, and another nearby wolf pack which he wanted vanquished. The duke in his own time accomplished the tasks, but he was growing weary - he kept fighting and killing, but when was he going to be accepted? He returned to the alpha and respectfully asked for his acceptance, only to be met by the crude laughter of the wolf - he had only been toying with the duke, and had absolutely no intention for a filthy crossbreed to join his "pureblood" wolf pack.

Infuriated, Bolo launched himself at the alpha, and in mere moments ripped the alpha's throat apart. Towering over the dire wolf's body, basking in his accomplishment, he suddenly noted the shape of a gray diamond on the dire wolf's chest - and immediately realized he had just killed his own father.

Something snapped in Bolo's head that day, and immediately after his brother emerged. The wolf Tak told Bolo that he was his brother, and that they had both been abandoned by their parents; now, it was just the two of them, and that he would never leave Bolo the way that their kin had done to them.
